Place potatoes and seasoning or dip mix in a large pot. Add water to cover potatoes. Boil until potatoes are tender. Pour off water. Try to keep as much seasoning on potatoes as possible. Add butter to potatoes. Whip potatoes using an electric mixer. Add whipping cream 1/4 cup at a time until desired consistency is reached. Salt and pepper to taste.
To lower fat & calorie contents of this recipe, substitute 1 cup of low fat buttermilk for the 1 cup of heavy whipping cream.
